Top 10 Reasons to Visit WTC Summer 2024
Summer on the WTC campus is always full of a variety of free activities for the entire family to enjoy. From wellness classes to live musical performances and movie screenings, the summer is full of outdoor fun. Discover highlights of our summer programming below and mark your calendars!
1. Food
- Smorgasburg – Indulge in a variety of eats and treats from over 30 local vendors during this weekly food festival.
- Farmers Market – Shop for fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and dairy products from local farmers every Tuesday.
- Oculus Beer Garden – Soak up amazing views of the World Trade Center campus while enjoying drinks and bites.
2. Outdoor Public Art
- Wildlife Wonders – Internationally renowned artists Gillie and Marc return with new public art sculptures depicting animals in different playful scenarios with a mission to inspire wildlife conservation by helping to nurture the public’s friendship with the animals.
3. Outdoor Dance Party
- Celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride – A silent dance party where you can dance the night away to DJ sets transmitted through provided headphones. All this with a backdrop of the Oculus lit in rainbow colors to celebrate Pride!
4. Workout and Wellness Classes
- Wellness Wednesdays – Get moving with a range of fitness and wellness classes curated by Sputnik Yoga on select Wednesdays.
5. Music Performances
- Oculus Unplugged – The public is invited to play the piano on the Oculus floor every Monday and Thursday.
- Downtown Alliance Art is All Around concert series – A lunchtime concert series on North Oculus Plaza.
6. Sports Games Viewings
- Cricket World Cup Final – Immerse yourself in the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup Final game viewing on North Oculus Plaza. There will be fan a park with activations for the whole family to enjoy.
7. Holiday Lightings in the Oculus
- Juneteenth, Pride, July 4, Labor Day – The Oculus’ vanity lights will shine in varying colors to honor these holidays and make for the perfect photo op.
8. Celebrations of Diverse Cultural Heritages
- Juneteenth – Commemorate the holiday with a musical performance by Willerm Delisfort Project as part of Downtown Alliance’s Art is All Around lunchtime concert series. A Juneteenth flag will also be raised in the Oculus in commemoration.
9. Movie Nights
- Catch a flick al fresco at Oculus Outdoors, where we will show family-friendly flicks Friday evenings and kid-friendly movies Saturday afternoons. Each free movie showing will have a special surprise activation.
10. Olympic Rings
- Celebrate the 2024 Olympics with a picture by the giant Olympic rings on North Oculus Plaza.
